# Polymarket Protocol V2: What Changes for Robin Markets

> Polymarket is moving newly created markets to Protocol V2. Everything you have staked on Robin keeps working as before; markets created on Protocol V2 cannot be staked on the current vault.

Polymarket announced Protocol V2 on October 5, 2026: a new set of contracts for holding, trading, and settling outcome tokens. This page explains what that means for you as a Robin user, what does not change, and what to expect from the current yield source.

<Info>
  **In short:** nothing changes for positions you have already staked or for any
  market Robin lists today. Markets created on Protocol V2 are not supported by
  the current vault, so the list of stakeable markets stops growing after the
  switch.
</Info>

## What Polymarket is changing

Protocol V2 replaces the contracts under newly created Polymarket markets:

* A new ERC-1155 ledger (`PositionManager`) holds outcome tokens, instead of the Conditional Tokens Framework (CTF).
* A `Router` handles split, merge, and redeem.
* `ExchangeV3` handles trading.
* pUSD is the only collateral.
* Position ids and condition ids use new formats.

The Conditional Tokens Framework stays live. Existing markets (Polymarket calls them "v1" markets) keep trading on the CTF exchanges and keep running until they resolve. Polymarket does not convert existing CTF positions automatically. Holders can migrate positions on markets Polymarket registers for migration, either themselves or by approving Polymarket's migration contract. Positions staked in Robin cannot be migrated by anyone while they are in the vault.

## What keeps working on Robin

Robin's staking vault (`RobinStakingVault`) and its yield source (`RobinSplitVault`) are built on the Conditional Tokens Framework with USDC.e as collateral. Every market Robin supports today is a CTF market, and for those markets everything keeps working exactly as before:

* Deposits and withdrawals, including withdrawals after resolution.
* Organic yield, the [yield guarantee](/yield-guarantee), the matching bonus, and [Robin Points](/points-program).
* The Robin TWAP Oracle.
* Your wallet. Deposit Wallets, Gnosis Safe proxies, and the Polymarket relayer are unchanged.

You do not need to do anything. Staked positions stay staked, and you can withdraw at any time, as always.

## What is not supported

Markets created on Protocol V2 cannot be staked on the current vault. Their outcome tokens live on the new `PositionManager` ledger rather than on the Conditional Tokens Framework the vault is built on, and their condition ids use a different format.

In the app, a Protocol V2 market is marked **not supported**. New Polymarket markets created after the switch will therefore not appear as stakeable. The existing market list stops growing and shrinks as markets resolve.

## Timeline

| Date | What happens |
| - | - |
| October 5, 2026 | Polymarket announces Protocol V2. Canary markets run on Protocol V2 until October 30, 2026. |
| October 24, 2026 | Polymarket retires Data API v1. Relevant for developers only: Robin's app and the integration example already use Data API v2 (see [Polymarket data](/developers/index#polymarket-data)). |
| November 2, 2026 (tentative) | Newly created Polymarket markets move to Protocol V2. |

Polymarket sets these dates and may move them. Polymarket's [migration guide](https://docs.polymarket.com/migrate/polymarket-v2/overview) is the authoritative source.

## What's next

We are evaluating a new version of Robin Markets built for Protocol V2. Details will follow. Until then, the current vault keeps serving every CTF market exactly as it does today.
